"Georgia go potty!"

We broke out the bumbo for Georgia. She hates being on her tummy so we're hoping this will challenge her to use those neck muscles - and we are seeing some improvement. She's also learning that she has hands - AND that she can control them. Her new favorite activity is bringing them together and plotting how she will one day rule the world. Hopefully I can capture this on film soon.

So, back to the reason for this post. After bringing out the bumbo and plopping Georgia into it, Sara immediately "knew" what was going on and then started cheering Georgia on by saying "Georgia go potty!" "Georgia go potty!". I knew this wasn't going to end well. Sure enough, as soon as we took Georgia off of the bumbo, Sara, being the good big sister that she is, hopped on the bumbo to show Georgia how to use it.... she immediately pottied and then cheered. Oh boy!

I've created a monster!

So, my cousin came over today and I took a few pictures of her kids. Before they arrived, I pulled out my photo equipment and Sara immediately shouted "take picture", so I had to obliged. And, yes, she posed all on her own. And, then demanded to see the pictures on the camera after her little shoot.

She's wearing her swim suit in anticipation of their arrival. She knew that once they got here, she could try out her new pool. She pulled the swim suit out of her closet and put it on, all on her own, after breakfast. She couldn't wait.

A few from the weekend...

We finally had a nice weekend at home :) Nana Jan and Grandpa came over and we were able to show off our new house and spend some time with the girls. Sara spent Saturday morning playing in the sprinkler. She loves the water!

Love her dipply booty :)

Then, tonight, the girls played together on Georgia's playmat. Don't they look like they're going to be best friends?

And this last shot is great because you can see the difference 2 years makes. Its hard to believe that Sara was ever this small, or that Georgia will soon be a talking, active toddler in a few short years.

Happy 2 months to Georgia!

Today Georgia turned 2 months old! I can't believe 2 months have already gone by. We celebrated with a mini-photo shoot. And, she even smiled for the camera.

Shots for Georgia :(

Georgia had her 2 month check up today. She's doing good and hitting all her milestones. Go Georgia :-) Her stats are:

Height: 24" - off the charts
Weight: 12 lbs 2 oz - 95th percentile
Head circumference: 15.5" - 82nd percentile

She got a two shot and screamed like I've never heard her. Even the nurse commented on her little howl. The shots made her fussy all day. Poor girl.

Another week has passed...

Georgia turned 8 weeks old on Sunday. I can't believe how quickly the time is going by. Last week, she kept me company while I painted her nursery. Chad put the room back together this weekend and we've now officially moved her into her own room. She only woke once last night so we think this is a good thing :)

Georgia also experienced her first fireworks, as this past weekend was the 4th of July. She is smiling more and trying to talk, making those first baby sounds. I hope to capture her beautiful smile on film soon so I can share it with all of you.

Sara and I went up to San Antonio to visit Aunie Charlene. Up there, Sara went swimming many, many times and is no longer afraid of the water. In fact, she instead thinks that she is a fish! We have to be careful around pools now because she will jump in head first!

On the 4th, we visited Landa Park and spent the day chilling in the spring fed pool and then Sara watched her very first fireworks. At first, she was terrified, but in true Sara spirit, she toughed it out and decided that they were, in fact, pretty cool. She talked about them the entire ride home.

Sara also used the weekend to practice singing one of her favorites, "Jesus Loves Me" and trying out her top new phrases: "Mine", "Have it", and "Oh my gosh". Other than the occassional melt down because she couldn't carry around a towel at all hours or a request for milk was denied, she was a perfect angle :) We treated her to a visit to San Jose Mission on our way out of town.
