Catching up...

Ok. I have a ton of posts I plan to get to today. So, grab a drink, sit back and enjoy :)

The first post, most of you have heard but I wanted to type it out because it MUST make Georgia Ann's babybook and I don't want to forget about it (and I know it will be almost a year before I get around to even starting her babybook).

Anyway, a few weeks ago, Georgia was pretty fussy. We assumed she was teething and just chalked it up to that. We sat down to dinner, put Georgia in her high chair and started eating. After a few minutes, Georgia seemed like she was feeling better and was chowing down on her rice and chicken. Chad noticed she was also devouring something mussy-like. He asked me what else I had given her and almost as he was saying this, we realized that it wasn't food after all. She had had a major leaky, runny diaper blow-out and was now enjoying this tasty treat. Though, after a few bites, I think she also realized it wasn't so tasty and started gagging and making faces. Ewww!! Needless to say, as soon as we realized what had gone wrong, we whisked her out of the highchair and cleaned up the mess. I was on bath duty and Chad had to take care of the high chair. It was probably the most disgusting thing we've had to do as parents, yet. (Though, still less disguisting as when El Paso had his first stomach virus.)

Silly Accessory Day :)

This week is National Lutheran Schools week at daycare. For some reason, they celebrate with crazy clothes. On Monday, it was "Wild and Zany" day. The girls wore their outfits inside out and added a funny hat.

Today was Silly Accessory Day - and Sara went all out... She picked out her "married" hat, her butterfly wings, sunglasses and a green scarf. I asked her if she also wanted a necklace or bracelet but she said no. I guess 4 accessories is where she draws the line.

Georgia wore her cowgirl hat. It was also Georgia's 10 month birthday. Yay! She's exploring more and can now scale the stairs in a matter of seconds. She is also parroting anything you say and can clearly say "Baby", "Mama", "Dada" and "bye-bye". She's really trying to say "puppy" as well. She can also sign "more", "bottle" and "all done".

We're off to Grandma Doris's house, or the "Great Valley" as Sara refers to it. Hope you all have a great weekend!

We're starting a band!

Well, apparently our little girls are musical geniuses! Together they composed their first symphony and they are only 2.5 years and 10 months old. Seriously, we're taking them on the road to make a few bucks ;) Check out how cute they are...

And today was "Wild and Zany" day at school. I took a few quick pictures of the girls as they left this morning but I'm too tired to download them for the camera. Hopefully I can get to it tomorrow - or I might wait until Thursday since Wednesday is "Silly Accessory" day and I know we'll go all out for that one too. So stay tuned :)

Day of Beauty :)

Sara got her first haircut this weekend. We treated her to the full treatment at Lavish Salon.

She was a big girl the entire time (after ma-ma had to take her outside for a brief talk/reminder about how we act in big girl places). She waited patiently for her name to be called.

And then they called it!!

First, she got her hair shampooed and conditioned.

And then wrapped up in a towel.

And, then the stylist started chopping...

We topped it all off with Sara's first blow-out. (Sara was getting a bit bored by this point and started making faces in the mirror.)

Ta-da!

The next day we took the girls on a "field trip" to the San Jacinto Monument. Sara was overly thrilled to see the really really tall building with the big star on top. I also took the opportunity to do a mock-photo shoot since I've been thinking of using this location for a session coming up. Here are a few of my favorites.

My baby is 9 months!

Again a few days late on this blog post - but Georgia is now 9 months old. She has officially been out in this world for longer than she was in my belly :-)

In the last few weeks, Georgia has started pulling up. And this week she has become quite proficient at this task. She can now pull up on just about anything which is frustrating Sara because she can get at the toys Sara thought were out of Georgia's reach. It will be no time before Georgia will be chasing her around! She's already darting all over the place with her signature bear crawl. That girl can go!

Georgia is also experimenting with the stairs and has face planted a handful of time when Mama lets her go head first down the two steps that separate the playroom from the hallway. I guess a baby gate might be in our future.

Georgia now eats just about anything and LOVES solid food. Still just two teeth though. She's also talking up a storm and can say: Hi, bye-bye, Ma-Ma and Da-da - you know, the essentials. Finally, she loves playing patty-cake and can do the clapping parts and the "eat 'em ups" - she still struggles with "roll 'em up". She also loves crawling into my lap and playing itsy-bitsy spider.

Anyway, enjoy her 9 month series...

Happy Early Valentine's Day!

Before jetting off to Colorado with Chad, I took a few snaps of the girls for their Valentine's Day cards. I'm hoping to stuff and address them all Thursday night (when we get back) so I can rush them to the post office on Friday. Those of you that live in Winter Wonderland may get your cards a little late. Anyway, here our the "rejects" (the ones that didn't make the card). Enjoy!

Oh - and, anyone available to take Sara to dance Thursday morning? Send me an email and let me know :)
