Day TWO! - Epcot!

We kicked off our week at Disney with a visit to Epcot for two reasons: 1. I had read that Epcot is less busy on Mondays and 2. I wanted to save Magic Kingdom for Sara's actual birthday. Bonus - Epcot didn't open until 9 AM so that meant we could sleep in! The girls were excited for another wonderful day at Disney World!

We aimed to arrive at 8:30 AM so we could catch rope drop. Another great benefit was that we were one of the first to arrive and scored an awesome parking spot! (We chose to drive to Epcot because you can park almost right next to the entrance gate and we wanted the ease of getting back to our cabins for a nap that day).

We're here!!

We didn't have to wait long and then it was singing and dancing at rope-drop (the very last one, so I was told). And, then the mad dash to SOARIN. It was Sara's first ride and she did great! Georgia Ann was too little so Granny and Pa-paw took her on another ride. I think it was Living With the Land. They said it was pretty boring. Next up was Journey Into Imagination with Figment, which we all rode together (sans Chad - he was off scoring fast-passes for the day). Georgia ate it up and Sara wasn't sure about it all.

After Figment, the girls went with Granny and Pa-paw to watch Captain EO, which was their first 3D film. Chad and I took a spin on Mission: SPACE. That ride was VERY intense but  a lot of fun. We met up again, but only to split. Pa-paw, Sara, Chad and I went over to Test Track while Georgia Ann and Granny waited in line to meet some special friends. Test Track was a fast paced ride - but Sara loved it. And, on the way over, we caught a glimpse of these guys.

Again, because of a little Disney magic, we got off Test Track right in time to meet up with Granny and Georgia. They were just about to meet the famous crew...

I think their favorite was  Pluto. The spent a lot of time with him and even gave him some good-bye pets. Minnie Mouse was a very close second place!

After all that excitement, we ate a quick (but very hearty) lunch and then rode Ellen's Energy Adventure. That's the ride with all the dinosaurs. Sara wanted to frequently remind everyone that they weren't real because dinosaurs are extinct (but they sure looked real!). By this time, everyone was getting a bit sleepy so we hit up the Seas with Nemo & Friends (an aquarium ride) before heading back to the cabins for a nap.

But, it was only a short nap - because we had reservations that night with a few favorite princesses!!
We had dinner lined up at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway area of Epcot. The girls were sooo excited.

Belle greated us and Georgia Ann was in such awe of her dress. She kept saying, "Mommy, do you see her dress? It is so pretty" The dinner was wonderful! And we had several princesses stop by. I think we saw Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel and Snow White.

Ariel was Georgia Ann's favorite and they bonded over being the littlest sister. And, of course, Sara was beyond thrilled to get to see Snow White, her favorite princess.

After dinner, we were all tired again - and new it we had another big day ahead of us. So, we only rode two more rides: Gran Fiesta Tour and Maelstorm - and then back to the room for bed. Good-bye Epcot! We had fun!
